what’s the cost of having your teeth whitened at the dentist?

what is the procedure, and do you have to have xrays for any reason, and pay for a cleaning first as well????

Answer:
Your dentist will have to take impressions of your teeth to make molds. They then make little trays that fit snugly on your teeth. They give you a gel type substance to put in the trays and you must wear them for a certain amount of time each day for a set period of days. My dentist charges roughly $430 if I remember correctly. I’m not sure if cleaning first was necessary but I know I didn’t need the x-rays.

You should have a normal cleaning first, and make sure you don’t have any veneers or caps, because they don’t lighten evenly the way natural teeth would. Last time I checked it was about 500$ for brightsmile like laser whitening.

My husband just had this done last week. He had to get his teeth cleaned first, but they did not need to x-ray. The whitening procedure was $350 and included custom moldings of his teeth, whitening gel for home and the office treatment that took about an hour and whitened his teeth very significantly. The procedure was a flashing machine that did 4 sets of 15 mins each. After his teeth were sensitive for 2 days and he couldn’t eat certain foods for beverages for 48 hours.

Dentist teeth whitening can run up to $600. It is considered
cosmetic so most plans don’t give you any savings either.
Try eHealthPlus membership though, it could save you
50% off the normal price at the dentist.
